JODI YERYS

Jodi played for both Massapequa SC and Massapequa High School. She attended Stony Brook University where she was a 4-year letter winner as a goalkeeper.


CHEMAR SMITH

Chemar spent her entire youth career at Massapequa SC where she played for Massapequa Sidekicks, coached by Peter LaRosa.  She was highly-touted as one of the top 20 high school recruits in 1994. Chemar attended George Washington University where she was the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Year and earned the Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team honors four straight years. Her junior year Chemar was named to the All-America regional third team and her senior year to the All-America regional second team. In 2006, Chemar was inducted into the George Washington University Athletic Hall of Fame.


LAURA MARTIN

Laura also spent her entire youth career with the Massapequa Sidekicks as well as Massapequa High School, where she was named High School All-America. Laura attended Adelphi University where she had to redshirt her first two seasons with knee injuries. However, when she came back to form, Laura was named NYCAC Player of the Year, earned two First-Team All-America honors and was called up to the Women’s National Team camps.  Laura was inducted into Adelphi Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.


CHRISTIE WELSH

Christie is one of the most decorated players to come out of Long Island. Christie played for Massapequa SC until U-16 and Massapequa High School. Christie led Massapequa High School to the 1997 New York State Championship. She earned Parade All-America honor twice and was named NSCAA All-America as a senior.  Christie was named 1998 Gatorade Circle of Champions National High School Player of the Year.  Christie attended Penn State University where she earned NSCAA All-America honors in each of her four years, was named Soccer America’s Collegiate MVP three times and Big Ten Player of the Year three times, while leading her squad to four Big Ten titles and two Final Four appearances. In 2001 Christie was awarded the Herman Trophy and Missouri Athletic Club Player of the Year as the best collegiate soccer player.  She played professionally both in the United States and Europe. A member of the U.S. National Team from 2000 until 2008, Christie tallied 20 goals in 39 international appearances.


 

Jodi, Chemar, Laura and Christie join other Massapequa SC players Danielle (Egan) Reyna, class of 2016 and Alan Bodenstein and Emily Pickering, both Class of 2015, in the Hall of Fame. Congratulations!
